5 Big Players Who Haven’t Scored an IPL Hundred

While there are many prominent cricketers who haven’t scored an IPL hundred, we have selected five iconic IPL names – MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, and Kieron Pollard. Fans have immense respect and admiration for these players. Not scoring a hundred is not a failure but a missed opportunity for a few of these players.

MS Dhoni:

One of the best finishers in T20 cricket, Dhoni is yet to score an IPL hundred despite holding the record for playing the most matches in the league. Dhoni never came out to bat before the top five, meaning the ‘Captain Cool’ never had enough time to settle down and register a big score. His highest in IPL is an unbeaten 84, which came against RCB in 2019.

Yuvraj Singh:

The best middle-order batter from the Indian team at one stage, Yuvraj Singh saw a fluctuating IPL career during his long stay in the tournament. Despite batting in the top four, it is ironic that he never got the chance to breach the 100-run mark. The left-handed batter’s best IPL score is 83, which came against Rajasthan Royals in the 2014 edition.

Glenn Maxwell:

Maxwell continues to be one of the biggest hitters in white-ball cricket, and fans still wonder why he hasn’t been able to score an IPL century. In fact, he came very close in the 2014 edition against CSK, where he scored 95 runs. Nonetheless, his impact in the league made him one of the most popular overseas players.

Faf du Plessis:

The South African batter, who captains RCB, had IPL success a few times, but a maiden IPL century still eludes him. Du Plessis has made 96 against Kings XI Punjab in the 2019 season. It remains his highest score in the league. Like Dhoni and Maxwell, the Proteas cricketer has time to register a three-figure score.

Kieron Pollard:

Pollard is another big name who couldn’t score a century in IPL despite racking up more than 150 appearances. The Caribbean T20 cricketer, who remained a Mumbai Indians loyalist through his IPL career, played a pivotal role in Mumbai’s multiple IPL victories: He batted in lower middle order, which meant he didn’t get enough opportunities to play long innings. Pollard’s best-ever IPL knock came against CSK in the 2021 season. He made an unbeaten 87.
