SYNTHESIS OF BIS-BENZIMIDAZOLES N-ALKYL ANTI-INFECTIOUS DERIVATES
Heterocyclic compounds such as benzimidazole and its analogues, benzothiazole and benzoxazole, occupy an important place in therapeutic chemistry, particularly in the treatment of infectious diseases. In recent years, considerable attention has been paid to the synthesis of bis-benzimidazoles and analogues due to their various pharmacological activities such as antitumor, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory. For this purpose, a series of molecules derived from bis-benzimidazoles has been synthesized, in particular N-alkylated 6 and 7a-d. All these molecules were synthesized from 2thiometylbenzimidazolylbenzothiazole (5), himself prepared in the laboratory. The characterization of these newly synthesized compounds was performed using NMR (1H and 13C) and mass spectroscopy methods. The yield of the compounds is between 34 and 65%. The purified and characterized compounds make it possible to consider the development of a new chemical class of anti-infective.
